Getting Jobs In Air Force- A Guide To Prepare Yourself

Bagging a job in the air force can itself be a challenging experience. The more you would put into, the more you would get out of it. Things start at the very beginning of the process of enlistment. These days, job opportunities in the air force are much lesser than of the previous time and therefore there is an immense competition. Due to this reason, it is important to be well prepared, in case you have decided to join the air force.

Here is how you should prepare yourself:

Step 1:

The first step to get recruited in the air force is to meet the recruiter. While meeting the person, your aim should be to prove him/her that you are keen on joining the air force. You should also carry all the necessary papers (birth certificate, transcript) for the same. Also, prepare a list of jobs in the air force in which you are interested.

Step 2:

After completing the initial paperwork, the next step is to head to the Military Entrance Processing Station. Remember, that a number of people are washed out of the recruitment process at this stage. Disclose your complete medical history to the authority at this stage. In case you qualify the medical evaluation process and go to the next level, then avoid any and every activity that can result in medical issues. Apart from your medical condition, in this stage, your mental aptitude will also be checked. Here you will have to go through the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery test where your qualification and ranks for specific air force jobs will be checked.

Step 3:

If you can qualify the above-mentioned steps, then the next step of getting qualified is where your background will be checked for any previous criminal record. You would be smart if you do not hide anything at this stage. Try everything in the power to stay out of any trouble.

After passing all these steps, you will be able to choose from the list of available jobs. In this stage, you have to be fully prepared physically for the basic training before joining air force formally. But before starting this training, you have to perform a physical fitness test. So, you have to be well aware of your fitness requirements. Next, you have to find the fitness program planned for the basic training. It is always better if you can start training well ahead of the time, even before meeting with the recruiter.
